Workshop Description:
Writing is a complex process which requires thinking, quality planning, patience, time, and a variety of skills for
both the students and the teacher. Like any multi-step endeavor, writing experiences need to be as manageable, as
enjoyable, and as productive as possible.

What kinds of writing do your students need to be able to do? What are some of the greatest challenges at your grade level for your students and for you? What kinds of strategies would help your students develop the skills they need to be successful?

If you work with students in grades 3-5, plan to discuss writing needs, strategies, and experiences on Nov. 3.

If you work with students in grades 6-8, the date is Nov. 12

If you work with students in grades 9-12, join your colleagues on Nov. 13.

Let’s start the 2008-2009 school year with renewed confidence in our own as well as our students’ writing.
