Workshop Description:
Teachers struggle daily to meet the diverse needs of all their students as the students work to learn concepts and skills in multiple content areas. Differentiated instruction is a proactive approach for improving classroom learning for all students at any grade level and for assisting teachers in meeting students’ individual needs.
- Each workshop will focus on the following areas with examples specific to the grade levels present:
- The principles of differentiated instruction and what it means for teachers and students at these levels
- Examining a selection of developmentally appropriate instructional and management strategies that actively engage ALL students in the learning important content and skills
- Creating developmentally appropriate differentiated tasks and assignments for classroom use
- Networking and sharing with other teachers about successes and challenges specific to these grade levels as they to better meet the needs of ALL students
